Bonfire night is one of my favourite British traditions. Yes, it's grizzly in origin and yes, it's odd for the UK to celebrate something that is, essentially, religious extremism - but, whatever, I still love it. Tonight, I'm trekking out to the countryside to celebrate with my family. Every year they throw a large Guy Fawkes party. My father and younger brother build an enormous fire and provide sticks for the men-folk to prod said fire with (men love that for some reason?) And my mother makes vats of hot soup and bowls of delicious sausage and mash. It's also my sister's birthday - I still have no idea what to get her! Help!
