Vegetarianism and weight loss

I have been vegetarian for a few years, and I'd like to go on a diet to lose a few kilos, about three or four over a few weeks. Have you got any advice? I eat eggs and dairy products, and plenty of fruit and veg. I do short sessions of sport several times a week. thanks very much for your help.

A low calorie diet will help you to lose the weight quickly, but it will make you very tired as you don't eat meat for protein. Aim for a kilo a week which should be enough, go slowly but surely. Eat what you normally eat, just cut back on portion size, especially in the evenings. Think about stepping up your exercise regime as well.
