Using tampons for the first time.

Hi,
I'm 15 and would like to know if it is normal for it to hurt when you first use a tampon.
PS I'm a virgin. Thank you very much.

It is normal for it be uncomfortable the first few times that you insert a tampon, you might find it more comfortable to mini tampons, which are specially designed for young girls. If it still hurts, stop using tampons for a while and try again in a few months' time. There's no point in using them if it hurts too much!
