I have recently returned from 6 months in the States, and although my diet has not changed, my nails have become really weak. They snag and break the whole time and will not grow. I have tried strengthening varnishes but they have made no difference. Could it be a vitamin deficiency or something? Not only is it annoying, but it can also be quite painful, please help.
If your nails are rigid and weak, it may well be that you have a slilght vitamin B6 deficiency. The body's use of vitamin B6 is enhanced by cystine, so I would suggest a supplement which includes a combination of the two. Talk to a pharmacist about your needs.
