Child loves cutting out.

My daughter is five and loves to cut out anything she can get her hands on, even though she knows she will be told off. She has a pair of scissors and has destroyed many of our photos, books and magazines.
What does it mean and what should we do about it?

Your daughter has found a way of expressing herself! You must try to teach her other ways to comunicate and being creative, like drawing; painting; collaging (which she might like as it involves scissors!), or making things. Let her experiment with different things to see what she likes best and hopefully you will be able to save the rest of your books.
