Oily Skin
I have greasy, spot-prone skin and understand that saunas/hammams are great for bringing out impurities. How should I make the most of these facilities (masks, scrubs etc.)?
Saunas and hammams are not recommended for people with oily, acne prone skin: The heat stimulates the sebacious glands, causing increased release of the skin's natural oils. Never squeeze your spots, as this causes scarring and spreads infection within the area. Remove your makeup carefully with products containing extract of hamamelis or cucumber. You may want to use a foaming facial wash, but be aware that soap dries the skin - you may want to choose a product which is soap free. Use a face mask every 14 days and monitor your skin weekly to check for excessive sebacious activity. Your skin still needs moisturiser - choose a light, easily absorbed product for greasy skin.
