Eye Liner
I love the look that eyeliner creates, but can't do it myself. I don't have the steadiest hand and I seem to draw all over my eye lids… please help.
There are 3 main types of eyeliner, all of which create a different look. Kohl pencil is the traditional eyeliner and often comes with a smudger for sexy, smokey eyes. Be sure to buy one with a soft lead, as you don't want to damage your skin. As you do not have the steadiest hand, I would recommend that you sit, with your elbow rested on the table. For a clean line, make sure that the pencil is sharp. Look down slightly into the mirror and hold your eyeliner so that the nib lies flat with your lashes (this enables you to draw a line which is as close to the lashes as possible). Line your top lash from inside to outside, lifting away from the lash line slightly at the outer edge (to open your eye). Do not line beyond your outer eye. If you want to line your lower lashes, be sure to draw below, not above, as you will end up looking piggy. For an accurate, soft look that lasts all day, why not try using an eyeliner brush and shadow. It may take one or two tries to get the hang of, but is generally much easier, as you don't need to have a steady hand. The brush is flat, with a very defined edge which is used to gently stencil the lash line. If you have pencils down to a fine art, go for a slick of hollywood glamour, with liquid eyeliner. The look, well done, is the ultimate in femme fatale. However, without practice it can look a mess.
