Combination Skin
What foundation should I choose for combination skin?
There is a huge range of foundations available, many of them designed especially for combination skin. The important factor when it comes to foundation, is to find one of a decent quality, that matches your own skin tone. Many of the cheaper products are inferior, have an orange hue and wear off during the day. Choose some products which are labelled for your skin type, and test them on the back of your hand for a good colour match. If in doubt, ask a shop assistant, who will be more than happy to help you. You may also want to invest in some powder, to ensure a lasting shine free look. Your daily skin-care routine is far and away more important than the makeup you choose. Combination skin involves an oily t-zone (chin, nose and forehead), with normal to dry skin elsewhere. For this skin type, I would suggest avoiding facial wash, which can have a very drying effect on the skin. Instead, opt for the good old 3 step: cleanse, tone & moisturise, morning and night. Use a gentle cleansing milk, removing the excess with a gentle toner - avoid products high in alcohol as they irritate the skin. Follow with a light, non-greasy moisturiser, which does not clog the pores. Try the 'Skin Pure' range by Lancaster, especially designed for your skin type. If you are susceptible to breakouts, visit your doctor for further advice.
