Colouring
I am bored of my hair colour and long for a change - the problem is that there is such a huge choice of home kits and colours that I can't choose! I have pale skin, blue eyes and boring brown hair… what would you recommend?
Professionally coloured hair will, generally always look better than if you do it yourself. However, I accept that it can be expensive and time consuming. There are plenty of excellent home kits available, and first step to choosing the right colour, is to determine whether you have a 'warm' or 'cool' complexion. Readers - follow this guide: EYE COLOUR: Warm - golden brown, green, blue green, turquoise and hazel with brown or gold flecks. Cool - Grey or dark blue, dark brown, black and hazel with grey or blue flecks. NATURAL HAIR COLOUR: Warm - Strawberry blonde, red, deep brown with red/gold highlights or grey with yellow. Cool - Dark, ash and golden brown, black, golden blonde, salt and pepper or white. SKIN COLOUR: Warm - Brown with a golden or pink undertone, pale with a peach or golden undertone, freckled, or golden when tanned. Cool - Very dark, olive or medium. Pale with colourless cheeks or pink undertones, also those who go dark when they tan. I think that you would agree that you are mostly 'Cool': The best shades for you are glossy blacks, ash browns and cool blondes (from platinum to icy shite). If you fancy something a little more daring... why not try burgundy or lipstick red! Avoid golden, or bronze tones as they will make you look sallow and tired. Naturally 'Warm' people should enhance their look with rich golden or chocolate browns, sunny blonds or auburn. Highlights will enhance your colour, adding warm tones to your hair. Avoid black, blue and white as you will look gaunt.
