Sleeping in Makeup

Despite all good intentions, I seldom get round to taking my makeup off after a big night out. My skin screams for help the next day… are there any secrets to rescuing it the next day?

Sleeping in makeup is a big beauty no-no, but we have all done it. When you crawl home in the early hours, the last thing you think of doing is getting out the cotton wool, when your bed is calling. I can't condone such behaviour, but here's the way to rescue your face the morning after: Start by cleansing well, to ensure that you have removed all traces of last night. Then apply your favourite face mask, to draw out impurities, sit back and relax. Once your mask has done its work, wash it off thoroughly, with warm water, and moisturise. Your skin will suck in the cream like a flash, so moisturise again... and voila. Drink lots of water through out the day, to make sure that both you, and your skin rehydrate. Sleeping in makeup is not something that you should make a habit of. Your skin needs to breath whilst you are sleep, and being smothered in party girl makeup simply doesn't help. Just think of all the impurities that your face has been exposed to on a big night out, not only will it be parched from all that alcohol, but layered in smoke, sweat and grime from that pub/club/bar.
