Yellow Teeth
I am twenty and have yellow teeth (I don't smoke and take good care of them) and I would like to have them whitened. Is bleaching bad for your teeth?
Everyone's teeth are naturally a different shade and their colour is determined when they form. The amazing, white smiles that you see in magazines or on tv have most likely been bleached or touched up by computer. Bleaching does not damage your teeth, but it is important that you have it done professionally. There are two options, which your dentist will explain to you: You can either have them whitened at the surgery with strong peroxide and laser treatment, or you can do it yourself, with a weaker substance and dental trays, (moulded by your dentist). Your choice depends on how quickly you want a whiter smile. It is important to be realistic about the results you expect... your teeth will only lighten in colour to a certain degree.
