History: God of darkness, chaos, deserts, storms and war, Seth symbolises evil above all. Often represented by a boar, or as a man with a boar's head, the Egyptians worshipped Seth when the Hyksos conquered the land. Jealous of his brother Osiris, Seth murdered him, by trapping him in a coffin and throwing him into the Nile. Isis, Osiris' wife and sister, found his remains and brought him back to life with help from Thot and Anubis. As punishment for what he had done, Seth was exiled into the desert and came to represent dryness and aridity. He ended up imprisoned by his freedom. According to other translations of the story, he was sent into the sky and became the Big Dipper.
Character: Ambitious, passionate and a perfectionist, you are always setting the bar higher for yourself. You are driven and believe that obstacles are sent to be overcome, permanently looking for new challenges to liven things up. Stretching yourself makes you feel alive. You steadfastly look to the future with a propensity to turn the page quickly and not drag the past back into the light. The problem is that you don't always learn from experience, or at least not immediately. You are forever starting afresh, to test your skills and challenge yourself, but it is never enough. You hate mediocrity. You are sometimes seen as an unscrupulous hunter, struggling with your inner paradoxes. You have a tendency to run away from the situation to escape too much personal involvement or upset, which gives you a kind of temporary pseudo peace. Over time you will be able to control yourself, calm your nerves and fulfil your responsibilities. Sublimation through a creative job is often the way to happiness, for you need a certain amount of freedom in your professional life. You have the feeling that you can only count on yourself to move things forwards and you often side-step the people around you. You find it hard to accept professional, social or emotional constraints, a form of selfishness which is your own way of defending yourself against events which could cause you harm. This behaviour does not make you any more popular, but you prefer it that way as you answer to your own beck and call. It is good for you to make mistakes and go through plenty of different experiences, which allow you to stabilise and conquer the self-doubt which tells you that you are deep imperfect.
You find it hard to overcome jealousy in your love life, but the fire within you, that passion which brought you and your partner together in the first place keeps your relationship going. The answer is to channel your energies and focus yourself.
