History:
As god of wisdom and writing, Thot was Osiris' advisor and protector of Horus. He appears as a man or baboon, with the head of an ibis wearing a crescent moon.
He was idolised as the god of words and mathematics and considered as scribe of the gods, who also measured time and protected all writers. Through his mastery of hieroglyphics, he also held a strong influence over the magicians. He was also said to govern astrologers, accountants and warriors.
