What is commitment phobia?

So what is this commitment phobia malarkey all about?

"Some fear and hesitation about making commitments is good. We should be cautious before we act," says Lyn. "It's called 'emotional maturity'. We make better decisions if we take our time to think before acting."

Commitment phobia, though, is when that hesitation goes on for a little bit (or a lot!) too long.

If you've not got commitment phobia, you might find it tricky to understand what's going on inside a commitment phobe's head.

There are lots of things that a commitment phobe might be scared of, according to Lyn; they might be scared of the being out of pocket when they have a partner, of family and friends disapproving, or of getting bored of the relationship.
