An eighties bouffant, palid skin and a nervous
smile... Tom Cruise was not yet 20 when
he made Coppola's Outsiders. With a touch
of the rebel, he looked much less smooth
back in the day, but still, we all fell
for his beautiful baby blues, didn't we?
Today
(right):
Although his first role was in 1981, in
Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love, Tom Cruise's
career didn't take off until Outsiders,
two years later. Since his 1986 appearence
in Top Gun, he has commanded high Hollywood
pay packets and won awards by the bucketful.
Somewhere along the way he found his style:
short, dark hair, toned physique and straight
white teeth, thanks to many years of dental
treatment. Never the fashion victim, Cruise
knows what suits him and unlike his ex-wife,
doesn't often veer from the straight and
narrow. His classic, elegant style, was
snapped here at the European première
