According to new research undertaken by TV shopping channel QVC, the peak of perfection for women comes at age 31.
Most women of this age are married and with children, so this comes as great news for celebrities Katie Holmes, Alesha Dixon WAG Danielle Lineker who have all reached the age of their beauty prime.
The survey of more than 2000 men and women reported that the fresh faced teenage look sported by stars such as Emma Watson or Miley Cyrus was less attractive. Almost two-thirds of women agreed that ‘with age comes beauty’ with over half saying that they felt less insecure and more attractive as they grew older.
Two-thirds of women also said that as they matured, they cared less about what others thought of their appearance. The three ingredients respondents linked most to attractiveness and beauty were confidence -70%, good looks - 67% and being stylish 47%.
QVC commissioned the research as part of its Beauty Month launch. Sue Leeson at QVC said the findings confirmed their expectations that “real beauty is about more than good looks, but a combination of confidence, style and personality too”.
Women were most confident about their appearance in London, with 37% describing themselves as beautiful as opposed to only 28% of Welsh women. It seems 31 is the new gorgeous.
