Description : A look at the fabulous TV series featuring the characters Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha. Set in New York, the series centres on Carrie and her friends' relationships. It ran for six seasons and also led to a movie which is out in cinemas in 2008. As well as being famous for dealing with sex in an upfront way, the series is also famous for the style and dress sense of the main characters, notably Carrie's unique fashion sense.
So I went to see the SATC movie when it came out and I loved it! I've never heard so much noise in a cinema waiting for the film to start and I've never seen a cinema packed with nearly all girls (I think I spotted about 4 blokes!)
I'll not give the storyline away in my blog in case anyone's reading who hasn't seen the film. All I can say is that I had a few tears in my eyes.. some tears of sadness and some tears of joy. Having watched all the series, I felt as if I was on a journey together with the characters. I really got caught up in the film and couldn't actually believe that 2 and a half hours had passed when the credits appeared!
I think the film is definitely watchable if you've not seen the series but I don't think people will get the same out of it. If you have seen the series, it's a film/experience not to be missed.. although you all knew that already!
A photo of the girls at the world premiere in Leicester Square, London. Don't they look gorgeous? (although I'm not sure about SJP's hat!).
I don't fully understand why the premiere took place in London though. I would have thought that given the series and characters' love affair with New York, it would have been there... Anyone got any insight on this?
I'm sooooo excited! The movie is out in a couple of weeks. I saw a trailer for it the other day and squealed with delight. I don't remember the last time I got so excited about a film coming out!
Steve Brady, played by David Eigenberg, is Miranda's on and off boyfriend. Their relationship starts with what Miranda thinks is a one-night stand, but in fact Steve wants to see her again! The two of them are very different: he's sensitive, Miranda's cynical and throughout the series, Miranda puts him through a lot.
Steve accidentally gets Miranda pregnant anf they have a son together named Brady. They break up after the birth, only to get back together again and married in the show's final season.
Mr. Big, played by Chris Noth, is Carrie's principle love interest throughout the series. He's charming and witty but struggles to show the commitment that Carrie is longing for and their on-off relationship takes its toll on Carrie's self-esteem.
Mr Big is somewhat of a mysterious character. He's wealthy but little is known about what he does for a living. And it's only in the last episode of the last season that we discover his real name is John. His surname remains unknown. The name "Mr Big" came from Samantha's description of him as the "next Donald Trump".
