She's nicknamed "The Lara Croft of reforms" and the "Joan of Arc of industry", and she's the subject of a book sub-headed "A woman at war". Yet, when you meet  Laurence Parisot, you discover a small woman, a little over 5 foot tall, with short hair and a friendly face. Not quite the hit-woman you'd expected then.

That's because Laurence Parisot, President of the Movement of French Enterprises (MEDEF), clearly likes to play with clichés and throw people off the trail. Behind her self-effacing facade lies intelligence that's as fast as lightning, willpower of steel and a great deal of authority. Here's the portrait of a woman described as "dynamite".
