You are good at pre-empting situations that could throw you off course and prepare yourself long in advance. You usually dread the impact that these things may have and your anxiety probably increases as the big day draws closer. You're ready for it however and are usually armed to the teeth! Over time, you've built up your own early-warning system, so you know when difficult situations are coming up and can take steps to overcome obstacles and get ready to take the strain. You spend hours going through your presentation before an important meeting and start organising things months before you move house. You don't leave anything to chance, because you 'never know what may come up'... You only count on yourself and beware anybody who tries to change your plans! You see red at the slightest upset which makes you worry even more, but be careful of being too demanding. You can't control everything in life and even though being prepared for the worst is a good way of managing your stress, it can also generate even more. Rather than constantly looking for the next disaster, try to live for the moment and concentrate on the now. You'll end up learning to make the most of the present and worry much less about the stress which may be round the corner. |
