The donkey and cow were both present at the birth of Christ and have come to be known as symbols of protection. Donkeys in particular, illustrate the virtues of humility and devotion. They may represent a person close to the dreamer who thinks very highly of them and is a source of support.
The donkey is also a sign of wisdom and immaterialism. It can also be a negative sign, showing frivolity, or a lack of judgement.
The donkey in the manger
In a manger, a donkey is a protective influence, normally over new projects or ideas. It may be a sign that the time is right to take a certain step, or a symbol of things which will, over time, grow to be important. If you are thinking of starting something new, seize the day!
The golden foal
This is a symbol of humility and wisdom. Don't judge a book by its cover, untold riches may lie behind a modest façade. This represents definate success, you just have to be patient...
The angry donkey
A donkey which is angry or out of control is a sign of a strong sexuality, which will not submit to any restrictions. Morality is no constraint to the dreamer's libido, but be careful, donkeys kick hard and you may be in a dangerous situation.
The sleeping donkey
The dreamer's basic needs may be being overlooked. The sleeping donkey is a sign that it may be time to awaken the animal in you. This is for the best, trust your instincts! Be careful of over-cautious advice which may prevent you from living life to the full.
