Chantelle Houghton admits: "A man ended our relationship"After much speculation, Chantelle Houghton has revealed the reason behind the split with the father of her 4-month-old daughter Dolly.
The former glamour model has previously confessed that she was shocked when she found out about her fiancé Alex Reid’s cross-dressing, but now she admits that the last straw was his suggestive texts to another man.
The 29-year-old told The Mirror: “Ultimately, a man ended our relationship and that’s all I’m going to say on the matter”.
Although the former Celebrity Big Brother star doesn’t specifically name any names, the mixed martial arts fighter has said that they rowed over suggestive texts he sent to his former agent Richard Curson, who he also allegedly tried to kiss.
Chantelle was kept completely in the dark about this other side of 37-year-old Alex, and admits that had she known she never would have gotten involved with him in the first place. She told Irish TV’s The Saturday Night Show: “I thought it was just a publicity thing. I would not have been in a relationship if I knew that.” The TV star also spoke candidly her shattered dreams of being a family: “It’s still very raw. I didn’t want to be a single mum and didn’t want to be without Alex. “Things happened in our relationship that I couldn’t stay with him.” Whilst Chantelle is busy trying to rebuild her life, she has found support from the most unlikely of places - her ex-husband Preston who she acrimoniously divorced in 2007. The 30-year-old musician, who originally met her on Celebrity Big Brother, has revealed to New magazine that they are back in contact and he’s recently been offering her advice. Preston told New magazine: "I know Chantelle will get through this." He admitted they’ve been "sporadically in touch over the years" and he said he’s sad that she’s going through such a tough time. Despite the pair previously savaging each other in the media, it appears that all bad feeling between them in gone. The Ordinary Boys frontman added: "She's confided in me a lot, especially during her break-up from Alex.” |
