Fergie biography

Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, was born 27 March 1975 in Los Angeles, USA.

She started out her career as a television presenter for the children’s television show “Kids Incorporated”, and from there appeared in several television adverts.

It was in the 1990s that she took her first steps into the world of music, with all girl group “Wild Orchid”.

Unfortunately, Fergie went through a bad patch in her life and got into drugs.

In 2001, Fergie was forced to leave the group owing to her problem with drugs and issues she had with the band’s image.

However, she got herself clean and then fell into the arms of the gorgeous Justin Timberlake, who she dated for a few months.

In 2003, Fergie was invited by Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas to take part in recording some tracks for their album, “Elephunk”.

The group really liked her voice and she fitted in perfectly with the trio, so became the fourth member, and lead vocals, of the Black Eyed Peas.

“Elephunk” and the singles, “Where is the Love?” and “Hey Mama”, released from the album were huge hits and led to the group going on a world tour.

The group’s next album, “Monkey Love”, was released in 2005, with Fergie having written the song “Don’t Phunk With My Heart”, which earned the group a Grammy Award for “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group”.

Fergie released her debut solo album “The Dutchess” in 2006. Will.I.Am was executive producer of the album and she also collaborated with Justin Timberlake, Timberland, The Neptunes and Outkast.

The album earned Fergie a Grammy nomination for “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance”.

Having released her solo album, Fergie returned full time to the Black Eyed Peas in 2007 and the group went off on their “Black Blue and You World Tour”.

Fergie went on to release two further albums with the Black Eyed Peas, “The E.N.D” (2009) and “The Beginning”(2010).

As well as a highly successful music career, Fergie has also launched a successful film career appearing in Hollywood blockbuster “Poseidon” (2006) and playing supporting roles in Quentin Tarantino’s “Grindhouse”(2007) and Rob Marshall’s “Nine” (2009).

In May 2010, Fergie launched her first fragrance, “Outspoken”, with “Outspoken Intense” launched in 2011.

In her private life, Fergie started dating actor Josh Duhamel (from the American show “Las Vegas”) in 2004. The couple married in January 2009. Could 2012 be the year of pitter patter of tiny feet?
