Strictly 2012: Fern Britton's "bitchy" backstage behaviourThe nation knows Fern Britton as a sweet and motherly television presenter, most famous for presenting This Morning for ten years.
But if backstage reports of the 2012 series of Strictly Come Dancing are to be believed, the 55-year-old isn’t quite as lovely as we all thought.
Fern, whos been partnered up with Artem Chigvintsev, is allegedly showing her competitive side behind the scenes. Sources have claimed that Fern’s getting very “catty” and “bitchy” with the other celebrity contestants. A show insider told Unrealitytv: “Fern’s always seen as a mother hen, but she’s not been liked at all. She’s very competitive, which shocked a lot of people.” In particular the buxom presenter is reported to be focussing her wrath on model Jerry Hall and ex-Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley. Strictly sources claim that Fern was unhappy after Lisa managed to top the leaderboard and is shocked by all the positive reviews the curvy former soap star received, despite being overweight. The insider went on: “She made a joke about Lisa’s weight, but it fell flat as it was really catty, especially as Fern should have empathy having once been bigger herself.” The TV host, who admitted to having a gastric band fitted in 2008, has also reportedly spoken out about "spoiled brat" Jerry Hall. The BBC source added: “She’s having a right bitch about everyone on the show and is saying she's already fed up with Jerry Hall being a diva.” While it’s alleged that Fern isn’t playing nice with the other celebrity contestants, her Strictly partner Artem is showing nothing but love for the other dancers. After Saturday’s show he tweeted: “Everybody did amazing tonight specially @Reallisariley and @Robinwindsor love them what a performance”. |
