Take That rally round bandmate Gary Barlow after tragedyGary Barlow and his wife Dawn tragically lost their fourth child Poppy on Saturday.
Following the stillborn birth of their daughter, his Take That bandmates Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald have been rallying around the star.
The boys sent heartfelt messages to their good friend and longtime collaborator.
A source told The Mirror: “They are all utterly distraught for Gary. “The boys are such a tight bunch and this has really knocked them all for six. They will always be there for him.”
As one of the most successful British boy bands of all time, Take That were scheduled to perform at the Olympic Closing Ceremony on Sunday, but now it looks doubtful as to whether they will go ahead as planned. According to The Mirror, Locog will not confirm or deny their involvement but the band were rumoured to be singing Rule the World as the Olympic cauldron is extinguished after the Games. Robbie, 38, has reportedly had to pull out due to wife Ayda Field's pregnancy as she is due to give birth to their first child next month. Gary is said to still be deciding whether or not he wants to do it. The source told The Mirror: “Nothing has been decided yet. At the moment, the focus is on Gary.” X Factor bosses are also giving Gary and his family the time and space he needs to grieve. Filming at the judges’ houses was planned to take place at the end of the month, but reportedly they’ve told the singer they’re more than happy to move dates around for him so he can be with wife Dawn. Gary and his partner of 12 years, Dawn, have three children together, Daniel, 11, Emily, nine, and Daisy, three. Yesterday they released a statement breaking the tragic news of their loss. Gary said: “Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we’ve lost our baby. “Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4 in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We’d ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected.” |
