Halle Berry’s ex in violent brawl with Olivier MartinezThanksgiving is traditionally a happy time where family members enjoy spending together, but that wasn’t the case for Halle Berry, her fiancé Olivier Martinez and Halle’s ex Gabriel Aubry.
It's been well publicised that since splitting in 2010, relations between Halle and Gabriel have been strained.
And this is made all the more complicated by their shared custody of 4-year-old daughter Nahla.
A judge recently blocked Halle's request to move to France with her daughter and new actor fiancé Olivier, so for the time being the frustrated Oscar-winning actress has been forced to remain in LA.
While the two have been battling for years over Nahla, it looks like the ill feeling between the two exes finally reached boiling point over Thanksgiving.
As Gabriel dropped Nahla off at Halle's home on Thanksgiving Day morning, Olivier reportedly tried to speak to the 36-year-old male model about the ongoing custody dispute. The MailOnline allege that Olivier said to Gabriel: “We have to move on”, and in response the Canadian model is said to have pushed the French actor and tried to punch him. A full blown fight allegedly broke out between the two men, with the violent brawl culminating in Olivier pinning Gabriel to the ground. A source claimed to gossip website TMZ that “Gabriel went nuts” in front of Halle and other witnesses. Both men had to receive medical treatment for their injuries and sources told TMZ that the fight was “brutal”, describing a blow-by-blow account of the melee. Police were called to Halle’s home and they arrested Gabriel for battery, but he wasn’t charged until he was out of hospital. The model - who was released from custody when he paid the $20,000 bail - reportedly suffered a broken rib, bruises to the face and a possible more serious head injury, while Oliver sustained a possible broken hand and neck injuries. The judge presiding over the custody battle subsequently issued an emergency protective order that dictates Gabriel remains 100 yards away from Halle, Olivier and daughter Nahla. It’s not known whether Halle and Nahla witnessed the violent altercation between her the men, but sources told TMZ that the actress tried to rush her daughter inside to prevent her seeing the fight. Emotions are clearly running high between Gabriel, Halle and Olivier, and the actor was reportedly furious that his plans to wed Halle and move to his native France with her and Nahla have been delayed because of Gabriel. According to TMZ,Taking Lives actor Olivier is said to have become so bitter during the custody battle that he’s allegedly keen to press charges in the hope that a court will finally allow him and Halle to take Nahla to France with them. This month Halle made a rare comment about the ongoing custody battle, telling InStyle magazine: “There is turbulence, but this too shall pass.” |
