Jessica Simpson was reportedly given $4 million to be the new face of Weight Watchers following the birth of her first child Maxwell Drew Johnson.

Since May the 32-year-old has been on a mission to shed the extra baby weight, after the 5’4” star gained four stone during the pregnancy.

But the singer admits that it’s been an uphill battle to get back to her previous size, largely because she pampered to her every food craving during the nine months.

She told USA Today: “I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it.

“I didn't know [the weight] didn't all come off with the baby.”

Like many new mothers Jessica has cut out on calorific treats and embarked upon an exercise regime, but the curvy star revealed that there is one particular thing standing in her way.

The new mum admitted: “My boobs are way too big to run at this point. I’m just walking.”

As the face of Weight Watchers Jessica has said she's determined to show that it’s normal to not ping straight back to your pre-pregnancy body.

The curvy star wants to be an example of how to shift the baby weight in a sensible and permanent way.

Jessica - who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson - explained: “My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel.

“I'm just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself.”

Despite the struggle, Jessica is still managing to lose weight each week on her Weight Watchers programme.

She’s planning to unveil her new post-baby body on 10th September on American chat show host Katie Couric's new show, Katie.
