Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise involved in car crashKatie Holmes and her daughter Suri were involved in a car accident in New York last night.Actress Katie - who last month filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, 50 - and 6-year-old Suri were passengers in the back of a black Mercedes Sedan when it was struck by a truck.
Fortunately, no-one was hurt in the incident, which was said to be minor. One source said: "It was nothing major other than the fact that it was Katie Holmes." Katie's chauffeur-driven vehicle suffered a large dent and scratches from the truck, which apparently backed into the luxury car.
Mission Impossible star Tom and Katie, who married in 2006, settled their divorce proceedings last week - not long after their split was announced. Katie, 33, is thought to have sole custody of Suri and is believed to have enrolled the little girl in a prestigious New York Catholic school.
The former couple released a statement following their break-up affirming their commitment to their daughter. It read: "We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests.
"We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."
