Katie Holmes to 'tell all' after divorce from Tom Cruise?Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's divorce has been settled - less than 2 weeks after their split was announced.
The couple, who married in November 2006, appear to have reached a civilised agreement out of court. Katie's lawyer Jonathan Wolfe told TMZ: "This case has been settled and the agreement has been signed.
"We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life. "We thank Tom's counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution."
TMZ have reported that while Katie will have sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter Suri, Tom, 50, will get significant custodial time with her. Tom's devotion to Scientology was said to be the main reason Katie ended their relationship.
The 33-year-old actress was reportedly worried about Tom's apparent plans to send Suri to a strict 'boot camp' for young followers. And a statement released by the couple seems to confirm these rumours. It reads: "We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests. "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents. "It's now being reported that US chat show host Oprah Winfrey is pursuing Katie for a 'tell-all' show. An insider tells Metro: "Even if she has to wait months, this will be a big one." Back in 2005, Tom was jumping on Oprah's sofa like a loon and declaring his love for Katie.How things change. |
