became a household name following the leak of her infamous sex
tape with singer Ray J.
Although mortified, Kim eventually managed to get past the scandal and has since become one of the most successful reality stars of all time.
Allegedly the x-rated video helped to land her family a reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which together with endorsement deals has made them one of the richest families in show business.
Recently it was suggested that her mother - and manager - Kris Jenner
actually sold the embarrassing footage, but Kim’s sister Khloe publicly dismissed the idea as "revolting."
The rumours of Kris’ involvement don’t seem to be dying down and now an inside source has revealed to Star magazine that the ‘momager’ was "totally involved" in its release.
The insider alleges that it was Kim’s mum who was behind deal that saw Kim take home over $1 million from the sale of the sex
tape back in 2007.
The source claimed: “Kris was totally involved in arranging the sale of Kim's tape. The video already existed, and Kris was there every step of the way as a middleman brought in to market it to an adult entertainment company.
"I saw Kris Jenner
's signature on the contract; I believe she got somewhere between $250,000 and $500,000 for the original deal with the middleman.”
The magazine have said that their secret source passed a lie detector over the controversial claims.
Previously the family’s former nanny Pam Behan has alleged that Kris has been “grooming her children” for fame.
On Entertainment Tonight she said: “I believe [Kris] was grooming her children for their current celebrity status their entire lives... I do believe that the success they enjoy now is what she always hoped for and wanted for them and for herself.
“Everything she does in this world, every decision she makes on her daughters' behalf, is based on greed and publicity and has nothing to do with her family's stability or happiness.”
Former lover Ray-J recently took a jibe at his sex
tape co-star Kim on Twitter, adding "LOL" to her tweet which read: “Keep your life in a positive perspective. We are not defined by our pasts.”
Ray J’s addition to Kim’s tweet was immediately retweeted over 30,000 times.
