Lindsay Lohan didn't deserve jail

Lindsay Lohan doesn't think she should have been gone to jail. The troubled actress recently completed 35 days under house arrest for stealing a necklace, and served actual jail time last year for the violation of her probation in connection with a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI), but feels she has been treated particularly harshly by the authorities. Asked her opinion on her sentencing, Lindsay said: "Unless you're a killer, I don't see a reason to stay there. I never hurt anyone but myself." Lindsay is now trying to put her problems - which have included drug and drink abuse - behind her and resume her acting career, which has largely stalled since she appeared in TV series 'Ugly Betty' in 2008. She told Vanity Fair Italy: "In October, I'll begin work. I hope to spend next year on set." Lindsay has already signed on to appear in gangster movie 'Gotti: Three Generations', and admitted she has made "a lot of mistakes," in her time, but blamed them on being young and naive. The 25-year-old star - who shot to fame in 1998 Disney film 'The Parent Trap' aged 11 - said: "I think that being young and in the position that I was in you don't really take the time to appreciate what you have. It was all a whirlwind but I'm not a kid anymore I'm 24 and I've made a lot of mistakes but I feel like if I can just stay focused I can achieve what I want to achieve." |
