One Direction star Louis Tomlinson buys football teamOne Direction star Louis Tomlinson has become the proud owner of his former football team in Yorkshire.
Following on from the boys’ US domination, they have some cash to splash and whereas bandmate Harry Styles has been looking into investing his in property, reportedly Louis has returned to Doncaster to help finance his favourite team The Three Horse Shoes.
According to The Sun, the One Thing singer wanted to help out his old teammates and make sure there was always a place for him on the team.
A source told The Sun: “Before Louis auditioned on The X Factor he played for the local pub side with a few of his pals back in Donny. “The team were struggling to get a new kit together for the new season, and it filtered back to Louis. “He decided to put his hand in his pocket as long as he can be called the owner and get the odd game when One Direction’s diary allows.” Reportedly becoming owner of his former team didn’t cost the One Direction heartthrob very much. The source explained: “He has sorted a really smart set of Nike strips and has even arranged a sponsor — Yorkshire Tea. “They will have the best kit in the league and no shortage of tasty brews at half time in the cold winter months.” Despite being busy with the band’s new album, Louis is reportedly taking his new job as a football team owner very seriously indeed. The 20-year-old has contacted the Doncaster Rovers to arrange a pre-season friendly between the two teams and has asked if a couple of their players will put on some training sessions for his friends on The Three Horse Shoes team. Louis has also been seen practicing his football skills with his bandmates Harry, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne as they work on recording their much anticipated second album. Earlier in the week they were spotted working on their ball control skills with fellow popstar Ed Sheeran, who is writing some tracks for the boys. It looks like the Yorkshire amateur leagues might attract a whole new group of fans if Louis takes to the pitch! |
