Paul O'Grady has been tipped to replace comedian Michael McIntyre on the 'Britain's Got Talent' judging panel. Despite it being claimed just yesterday (06.10.11) that the 56-year-old star's primetime chat show had been axed by ITV1, it is believed he is in talks with the broadcaster to replace funnyman Michael when he quits the series to concentrate on his upcoming UK tour. A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Paul would be a great addition - he's a national treasure. He would no doubt prove to be hugely popular." Paul rubbished claims he had fallen out with the broadcaster, insisting he will be working with ITV1 in 2012. He explained: "I'm doing stuff for them next year, there's no fight. It's hunky dory. It's just I'm writing a book at the moment, I'm doing a play. I've got all manner on." Yesterday (06.10.11), it was revealed ITV would not be commissioning another series of 'Paul O'Grady Live' after the programme "underperformed" in the ratings, with viewing figures dropping from 3.7 million in 2010 to 3.3 million this year. |
