Prince William rumoured to be leaving the RAF for Kate MiddletonPrince William is said to be giving up his position in the RAF in favour of spending more time with wife Kate Middleton on official duties.A new job advert looking for a third press officer to join Wills' media team has fuelled speculation the 30-year-old has chosen to prioritise his royal commitments over his career.
But a spokesman for Wills has brushed the rumours aside and insisted the new hiring is in preparation for the couple's move from Anglesey to London.
The spokesman told the Daily Telegraph: "The post has been created to take into account the growing work of the communications team, especially in the light of the impending Household Office move to Kensington Palace, which is taking place from the end of December through to Easter next year."
She was worried about his frequent time spent away from the family home and what it could mean for when they want to start a family.
Ahead of their official move to London from their Welsh cottage, the pair reportedly had a heart-to-heart about their future. A source close to the Royal couple told Now Magazine: “It’s been an emotional few weeks for them. Kate has no intention of living on her own in London in an empty palace while he works miles away in Wales.
“Kate understands Wills wants to serve his country but would like him by her side as well, especially when they start a family. “The last thing she wants is to be raising children alone, but if he chooses to leave the RAF and throw himself into public life, they’ll lose that last bit of normality they love.” Prince William qualified as a helicopter pilot in January 2010 and has since had to miss a number of royal duties because of his work commitments. At the beginning of this year, he was deployed to the Falkland Islands for six weeks - and Kate admitted she missed and worried about her man. She confessed to a fan at the time: “I miss him desperately.” |
