Geri Halliwell and Russell Brand have their first catfightSince meeting at rehearsals for the Olympic closing ceremony, it seems like things have moved very fast for Geri Halliwell and Russell Brand.
Lately the pair have been inseparable, enjoying romantic dates on Hampstead Heath and late night sleepovers.
Reportedly bonding over their shared love of yoga and spirituality, on Wednesday night the British comedian was spotted leaving Geri’s home with a bag bursting full of books and DVDs.
But as compatible as they are, they’ve come across their first romantic speed bump as a chance meeting between their pets went horribly wrong. Russell’s beloved cat Morrissey wasn’t best pleased to see the Spice Girl’s dogs Daddy and William and the claws came out. The 40-year-old brought her beloved dogs over to Russell’s house, but it seems that she wasn’t anticipating a catfight to ensue. A source told The Mirror: “It was important to Geri that her dogs met Russell because any new man in her life first has to impress them. “Sadly, while they took to Russ, Morrissey had other ideas. “He eyeballed the hairy beasts the minute they trespassed into his territory, taking an instant dislike to them, especially Daddy. “He hissed and clawed at him and even attempted to bite him so in the end Russ and Geri had to put them in separate rooms.” It seems that Geri was keen to see if Russell passed the dog test, as the singer’s pooches intuitively took a dislike to her ex Henry Beckwith - with puppy William reportedly leaving poo outside his bedroom. Meanwhile Russell shared his love of cats with his ex-wife Katy Perry, and the pair shared a cat called Krusty, in addition to Morrissey and the Fireworks singer’s own moggy Katy Purry. The source went on: “Russ and Geri keep finding more and more in common the more time they spend together. "They both love yoga and are spiritual people, and they both ditched booze. “Sadly, their pets didn’t quite share the same connection.” Dog people and cat people are notoriously incompatible, so only time will tell whether the lovebirds and their respective pets will be able find some common ground. |
