Russell Brand asks David Beckham about drugs at OlympicsRussell Brand has revealed that he questioned footballer David Beckham about drugs at rehearsals for the Olympics closing ceremony.The comedian was practising his performance of Beatles classic I Am Walrus in east London - the area where he grew up and fell into drug addiction.
“It doesn’t seem like all that long ago I was knocking about down there looking for mischief." But all is quite not as you might think - Russ, 36, actually asked 37-year-old Becks about painkilling drug cortisone. Russell continued: “I was speaking to David Beckham, who was there with his lovely wife Victoria, and I was asking him about pain relief for a bad back.
“I’ve got this pain in my lower back and I asked him if he had one of those injections for the pain when he was playing. He said all I needed was a massage, but he wasn’t exactly offering." Russell - a former heroin addict - admitted it felt rather bizarre to be hanging around the area again.
He continued: “It was mad, that whole situation in Dagenham. Me, back there again looking for drugs, only a stone’s throw from where my old grandma was buried.” |
