The Spice Girls
’ Olympic reunion has barely been announced and already there are reports of bickering between band members.
The nineties girl group - featuring Victoria Beckham
, Geri Halliwell
, Mel B
, Emma Bunton
and Mel C - looked like they'd put their differences aside to reunite for the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games in August.
But new reports have surfaced that Geri is frustrated with Victoria’s lack of enthusiasm and believes the fashion
designer has “lost” the spirit of the band.
A source told the Daily Mail that Geri said: “After the Olympics I can't even imagine even talking to her again, let alone being on a stage with her. Mel B was right; she has lost the spirit of the band.”
Reportedly Mel B and Geri were upset with Victoria when she snubbed the opportunity for a reunion at the Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee earlier this year.
At the time Geri allegedly told her friends: “None of us can understand why she won't take advantage of these opportunities. Now is the time to be together again as a band and she and Mel B can't be in the same room together.”
The Spice Girls last performance together was on their world tour in 2008, which was abandoned prematurely, reportedly due to infighting.
Hopefully the band members will be able to put their differences aside and remember the Spice Girl message of “girl power.”
