Mark Salling has told OK Magazine that he likes to spend his time off from acting by helping out with animal rehabilitation.

While speaking about the Wildlife Care of Ventura County cause, Mark told OK, “I have always been into birds. I got into bird rehabilitation in Texas and volunteered in the summers at a place called Samuel Farm.”

Salling, who plays Puck, a high school football player in FOX’s hit TV show, Glee, says that he likes to take some time aside from work to raise awareness about his “passion,” and that “right now it’s a hard time for birds.”

Aside from his charitable endeavours, Mark also revealed a little secret about himself.

“I know a couple of birdcalls!” he confessed. Gleeky!

A new season of Glee will premier in the 20th of September, just after a few days after cast members Lea Michele, Dianna Agron, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and Darren Criss will be assisting with the countrywide Fashion’s Night Out event alongside Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.
