Michael Jackson was the prominent lead singer of the Jackson Five and began producing solo albums in 1972. He met producer Quincy Jones while starring in musical The Wiz, and Jones agreed to produce his first solo album, Off The Wall; the two would go on to work together on Jackson's opus Thriller and its follow-up, Bad.
