Day nurseries can be great for children as they can give the child a greater variety of activities and provides them with social skills (such as the importance of sharing!) that they might not get in a small household.
Day nurseries usually offer daycare on a full-time or sessional basis, i.e. for a morning, afternoon, single day or part of the week. They may be more expensive than a childminder, but perhaps less than a nanny. Nurseries have the benefit of providing full-time daycare throughout the year – if your childminder, or her children, become sick you might find yourself without care for a while.
