Yep, another lovely symptom of pregnancy is heartburn and constipation - the bad news is that it can last your entire term! This symptom can be present very early on as the glut of hormones your body is processing slows down other bodily functions.

Your digestion can become more sluggish leading to a build up of acid in your stomach. That in turn can cause heartburn and, further on down the line, constipation. Nice.

Eating little and often can make your meals easier to digest and taking prenatal vitamins can also give your body a helping hand.

Unfortunately some antacids are out for now as they may ingredients which are bad for your baby. Have a word with your GP if you're suffering and they should be able to suggest safe options.

Failing that sip on carbonated water and make sure you eat plenty of fibre rich food to keep you regular. Bran for breakfast then...
