Spotting, light bleeding (Implantation bleeding)

Known as implantation bleeding hit is one of those lesser known symptoms and for good reason... you could be forgiven for thinking light spotting was more of a precursor to a period than a pregnancy.

Spotting can actually occur when the fertilised egg implants itself into the wall of the uterus and it's therefore known as "implantation bleeding" - it usually takes place between 6 to 12 days after conception (around the time your period would have been due just to confuse the issue).

Spotting is usually a little pink to brownish discharge similar to the start of a period. You may find it on your loo roll after you pee.

It doesn't happen to all women so it's not an obvious sign of early pregnancy but it's still something to look out for.
