- 15 Sex is the most important thing in a relationship.
|
False.
Sex is a functional, beneficial, fun and positive
part of any relationship, but it's far from the
most important thing. Sex is a way of communicating,
just like words, gestures, writing, actions. It
is a special, intimate way of expressing your
feelings for someone, your desire to be close
to them, even more so if you're in an exclusive
relationship, when it becomes a very special exchange.
Sex often reflects a couple's relationship. If
they are going through a bad patch, it is unlikely
to be mind-blowing, yet when things improve, they
will look up in the bedroom as well. How your
sex life is, is a good indicator of the health
of your relationship in general.
However, sexual problems don't always affect the
relationship itself, a couple can sometimes remain
very close, even while going through a bad patch
in their sexual relationship, for example, when
one of them is seriously ill.
By the same token, your sex life may be amazing,
while the relationship itself is in tatters. The
physical bond can remain, while emotional ties
break down. |
