In Ugly Betty, Eric Mabius is Daniel Meade: sexy AND rich (we're not money-driven but you'll not hear us complaining…), he's the heir to Mode, the fashion magazine that employs Ugly Betty. While he waits to get his hands on the place, he works as editor in chief. This stirs up fierce jealousy in all the workers, who see a dismal father-to-son dynasty in him… all the workers except Betty, the ugly but intelligent one who's the only person who understands him. Daniel ends up liking her for who she is, even if he does always end up heading out with a bunch of bimbos clinging on to him.
Eric in real life
He's really on his way up: discovered in the film Cruel Intentions then Resident Evil, Eric Mabius is one of Hollywood's newest stars. And it looks set to last since the Glamour Awards 2007 named him Man of the Year. His girlfriend, whom he met at college, quickly realised that she needed to act quickly so it was wedding bells in 2006 and a baby boy one year later… and voilà, he's in the bag! For now.
