Wulf sayst that we need to focus on our health
, not just the scales. “Promises of fast
and immediate weight loss
as part of a calorie restricted, low-carb or low-fat
can leave you deficient in essential minerals, vitamins, essential fatty acids or fibre and can lead to experiencing dips in energy that leave you craving unhealthy snacks,” she says. “You can also slow down your metabolism, making it much easier to put the weight back when you stop dieting
(we all know the yo-yo effect!).”
Wulf also points out some other things to watch out for when choosing a delivery diet, which include: levels of sodium, use of ‘real food’ versus additives and the amount of sugar. Looking at the menus and list of ingredients will reveal the use of artificial ingredients, synthetic nutrients, preservatives and hydrogenated (trans) fats.
