Weekly Wine Tasting: Brown's Brothers Heathcote Shiraz 2009
The limited release Brown's Brothers Heathcote Shiraz 2009 is one of these things, giving you a good reason to go out and panic bulk buy, like now. From the prized Heathcote vineyards this wine has battled through a bad vintage and come on on top. It's deliciously plush, velvety taste is given an extra level as it still remains a relatively light wine (despite the high alcohol content which is a feat in itself). The aromas of blackberry and spice blend with the rich oaks, black cherries and soft tannins on the palette and gets better the more you drink - that's not saying you should get carried away. This is a Shiraz to really take your time over and enjoy. Value for money: It's on the wrong side of £10 but trust us it's worth every penny. Dinner Party Rating: Guaranteed success, happy purple lips a-plenty. Sofeminine Star Rating: Brown's Brothers Heathcote Shiraz 2009 RRP: £13.95 Available from Berry Bro's & Rudd |
