Cecil Beaton (1904-1980) is one of the most influential and prolific image makers of all time. He created some of the most iconic images of stars such as Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn – never failing to capture their natural elegance and beauty. Throughout the 1920s his photography was featured in Vogue and Vanity Fair, providing an accurate and unique representation of the enchanting era.
From the 22nd April, an exhibition of Beaton’s photographs will be on display at the Chris Beetles Gallery in Central London in collaboration with premier auction house, Sotheby’s. The collection will feature original vintage prints, as well as modern prints produced form initial negatives drawn from the extensive archive at Sotheby’s. Each of the beautiful modern prints will be available in an edition of 50, all adorning the archive’s official stamp. There will also be a fully illustrated catalogue to accompany the exhibition, available for £10 from the Chris Beetles Gallery.
