While the world is watching the G20 summit in London with anticipation, our eyes are also focused on Michelle Obama's wardrobe. So far the First Lady has impressed us on her first Presidential trip to the UK by stepping off the plane at Stansted Airport in a yellow dress by Jason Wu, worn with a black coat cinched empire-line style below the bust with an Azzedine Alaia belt, having boarded in Washington in a Thakoon coat.
In the audience with the Queen and Prince Philip, Mrs Obama donned a new haircut and demure black and white outfit with pearls. Credit really has to be given to her husband, who didn't flinch when Prince Philip made a classic gaffe: the President told the Prince he had already had breakfast with the PM, meetings with the Chinese, Russians and David Cameron, to which the Prince quipped, "Can you tell the difference between them?" Luckily, the Obamas' diplomatic skills are as polished as Michelle's wardrobe seems to be.
Visiting No.10 on Wednesday, Sarah Brown looked dowdy in comparison to Michelle who chose an applique cream cardigan with a mint green skirt by high street chain J.Crew. In these recessionista times, it looks like the First Lady knows how to make perfect fashion sense.
