Guest designing for winter 2009 and spring 2010, French designer Sonia Rykiel will become the latest in a now long line of designers to go highstreet through an H&M team up.
Since 2004, H&M featured specially designed collections by fashion luminaries Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, Comme des Garçon and Matthew Williamson, as well as pop stars Madonna and Kylie Minogue.
Whilst past collections have focused more on womenswear, H&M are diverisfying their colllaborations beginning with exclusively designed Jimmy Choo shoes and bags - available in selected stores from 14th November.
The Sonia Rykiel winter collection for 2009, which launches on the 5th December, will see H&M extending the reach of their designer collaborations further into lingerie and related accessories. Next year’s spring collection will draw on Rykiel’s ‘Queen of Knit’ credentials with a range of iconic knitwear and more playful accessories.
“The Sonia Rykiel for H&M lingerie collection is the ideal way to offer the essence of Rykiel to a great number of women around the world, and a beautiful way to close the year.” said Nathalie Rykiel, president and artistic director of Sonia Rykiel
The lingerie collection will be available in H&M stores across the globe from 5th December and, in another H&M first, will also be seen in selected Sonia Rykiel boutiques internationally.
