Though Diane von Furstenberg first made her splash in the 70s with her notorious wrap dresses, not one of her signature silhouettes could be seen in her spring/summer 2010 collection. Instead the designer paraded cascading V-neck maxi dresses in technicolour prints down the catwalk, in addition to little black dresses with lattice embroidery and belted, brightly embroidered sundresses with fringe and layered hems. The only traces of Furstenberg’s 70s past were seen in golden leaf hair bands and neon-stacked woven bangles that suggested a hippy edge. More than a one trick pony, von Furstenberg displayed her ability to adapt to changing times.
