Sometimes, when it’s mid-Fashion Week and you’re waning you need a sugar rush. But instead of heading to the nearest bakery, you can count on Luella to offer a sweet, girlish collection to satisfy your craving with sunshine yellow and forget-me-not blue, pretty princess coats and a helping of bows. Luella manages to do girly without ever straying into Paris Hilton territory, and this season there was an even more ladylike feel to her collection; something a little Audrey Hepburn-esque in the bracelet sleeved jackets. But even so, we fell for the frothy pink dress and polkadots. Every girl needs a calorie-free sugar fix.
Of course, the buzz-worthy show of the day had to be Christopher Kane. We hear Philip Green made a mental note of the checks and ginghams that featured throughout Kane’s s/s10 offering. Could it be goodbye to plaid, hello gingham?
